Donald E. Hardaway is an associate professor of Information Technology Management in the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University. He has a diverse industry background that includes having performed work for the Department of Energy, the EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Navy, NASA, Exxon, Amoco, Shell, Atlantic Richfield, and others. In addition, he has provided feedback on new product development for Apple, and consulted on educational materials for the publishing industry and web-based instruction for Ernst & Young. He has a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Computer Science from the University of Houston and has served in different capacities in professional and academic associations that include the Linux Foundation, Association for Computing Machinery, and the Association for Information Systems. Professor Hardaway’s research interests include open source, cloud computing, enterprise technologies and emerging technologies from an application viewpoint. His publications have appeared in journals including MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, and IEEE Computer.
