Ric works at Red Hat as the senior director engineering where he leads a team that is working on the integration of storage into the new generation of platforms. Previously, Ric leads the Red Hat Storage Engineering team which is built around three acquisitions that he helped identify and integrate into Red Hat. Red Hat Storage includes the Gluster and Ceph engineering teams.

For my first 6 years at Red Hat, Ric was in charge of our Linux kernel file and storage team. Before coming to Red Hat, Ric spent ten years at EMC in the Symmetrix and Centera groups, four years at The Open Group's Research Institute and four years at Thinking Machines working on the CM5 operating system.

Ric is active in the Linux file system and storage world where he has helped organize workshops, inform open source developers about high-end storage and helped advance the robustness of the Linux IO & file system stack.
